
Ethnographic collections
Life as it once was is slowly disappearing. Private ethnographic collections will take you back to the olden days. Tours are available by prior arrangement.
The Military-Peasant Museum in Podgora houses a collection of military equipment and weapons from World War I and II, as well as an extensive collection of farming tools and other everyday objects from the first half of the 20th century.

The Pr’ Hostovih Ethnographic Collection in Gornje Poljane systematically displays the daily life of the inhabitants of Loška dolina in the first half of the 20th century.
The exhibited items tell stories of their work in the forest and fields, as well as other domestic chores.

At the Rihtar Homestead in Babno Polje, you can visit the museum section of the homestead located in the outbuildings and listen to a short lecture on the weather records in Babno Polje and the fascinating history of the Rihtar family. They also offer short or long guided walks around Babno Polje and throughout the region.
