In the Land of Ostrnice<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the Land of Ostrnice<\/b> is a series of events through which Lo\u0161ka dolina returns to one of its most recognisable images \u2013 ostrnice (traditional hay drying racks). <\/p>

With their ancient appearance, they were once densely scattered across the fields throughout the valley, giving the landscape an idyllic character<\/b> that inspired artists and defined the area. Today, their numbers are dwindling, but their significance remains deeply rooted in the people\u2019s consciousness.<\/p>

In technical terms, ostrnice are a simple tool for drying hay<\/b>, while symbolically they represent the pride of Lo\u0161ka dolina<\/b>, which is rightfully also called the Land of Ostrnice. Their characteristic shape is formed from the lopped tops of spruce or fir trees planted into the ground, artfully surrounded by semi-dried clover, hay, or even sheaves of grain or beans. Stacking them was strenuous and required knowledge, strength, and precision \u2013 a process passed down from generation to generation for centuries.<\/p>

With the In the Land of Ostrnice<\/i> events, we wish to return to where the ostrnice still live. Together with the residents, we are creating an authentic rural festival<\/b> that connects tradition and fun. The events include demonstrations of old farm chores, the stacking of ostrnice, mowing and hay harvesting, as well as music, dancing, socialising, and local cuisine. <\/p>

The events are intended for everyone \u2013 both those who wish to reminisce about the ostrnice and younger generations who are just discovering their significance. Through demonstrations of skills, stories, and experiences, we aim to preserve the heritage of many generations of hardworking farming hands and give it a place in the modern world once again.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
