Koča vas mansion was built in the 16th century by the Haller barons. It became a part of Slovenian literary history by means of correspondence between the nobles during the 17th century and in the years 1933-1934 when Slovenian poet Oton Župančič was seeking inspiration in the peaceful environment of the mansion. Koča vas is a place of origin of his collection of poems, named Med ostrnicami (Among haystacks).
The Koča vas mansion has been abandonned during the last couple of decades.
