The ostrnice (hay drying racks) are a source of pride and an integral part of the collective identity of the Loška dolina. Together with villagers, associations, custodians, and enthusiasts of tradition and rural customs—and with the support of the Municipality of Loška dolina—we have been organizing a true rural festival for nearly two decades, featuring socializing and entertainment, music, dancing, presentations of local cuisine and products, and above all, by showcasing the skills of making ostrnice and other farming tasks that are characteristic of and necessary for haymaking and hay harvesting. Together, we are reviving tradition and passing it on to younger generations. You are invited to become part of this story as well.
We are confident that at the events in the Land of the Ostrnice 2026, you will relive—or perhaps even experience for the first time—the pulse of traditional farm life while socializing and having fun.
The main event, Songs and Games among the Ostrnice, will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, starting at 5:00 p.m., at the Kandare Farmstead in Dane.
